PLAYER SPOTLIGHT

Muhfugger: Brian Kellough
Jersey: HARD WOOD
Hometown: Harrison, ME
Birthday: 4/14
Favorite Positions (softball): shortstop/ second base, but anywhere is fine
Why do you play softball? : Its fun to play, and can be laid back or as competitive as you want to make it, at the end of the night it’s not serious and it’s about having fun. I have plenty of competitive nights for sports so playing for the Muhfuggers will be my reprieve and allow me to just have fun for a night!
You prefer T or A?: BOTH
What do you do when not playing softball with the muhfuggers? Play softball for Snap It Off men’s team Thursdays, Paddle for The Space Dragons Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday, brew my own beers (got a red sox red, and a bitchin blonde ready in a week) anything outdoors or anything new and exciting.
Favorite drink or beverage? Makers Mark, Jamison, Tang and Tonics, most beers, and any beer I brewed myself
Do you wear a cup for protection? Hell Yes, gotta protect the family jewels
Most memorable experience? 1.) Winning the POI pounders first CO-ED A championship back in 2005, it was sweet champagne showers and all, like we won the World Series. We partied till early morning and the cops kicked us out of the park. We won it again the next year and everyone was like, whatever not nearly as fun. 2.) Deedra’s Pikachu dance
What wood you swing? (bat type and size): This year I’ll be switching to hardwood. Gonna be swinging a maple “A” bat size 34/32 oz balanced
Do you finish with one hand or two? :I mix it up depending on how I feel that night, sometimes you feel like finishing with one hand and sometimes 2. Depends on my mood.
Any injury from being struck by soft balls or ever been hit in the face by balls? Just some bruises on my shins from misplaying the ball, luckily no serious injuries. Never been hit in the face with a softball, broke my nose twice with baseballs once it high school and before that when I was around 10 years old
When you trim the grass, do you cut it down to the bare dirt, trimmed for infield, or it grow wild as outfield rough?: Bare dirt around home plate AND trimmed infield for the rest
Any advice for new players? Enjoy it, and don’t take it to seriously, don’t worry about making mistakes or doing something wrong, it doesn’t matter. The sole purpose of this team is to have fun, anything aside from that means nothing. If you find we are laughing at you, that’s your fault because you should be laughing at yourself hence we should be laughing WITH you! It’s all good fun; even the best players make mistakes. And if you have a question just ask.
Do you wanna make luff to Coach Caesar? NO! But if the two of us were serving a jail sentence of more than a year, he’d be on my radar.
